Rock Climbing

Rock climbing in Rifle Mountain Park gives you the opportunity to spend the day experiencing one of the most beautiful canyons in Colorado. Each trip is specifically catered to fit the goals and ability of your group.

Through quality instruction, your guide will work closely with you to teach and improve climbing technique, movement, and communication skills, all while enjoying the outdoors of the Rockies. Whether you are a first time climber, looking to transition into the outdoor setting, or an experienced climber looking to advance your skills, Rifle Climbing Guides offers half-day and full-day trips, along with and multi-day courses to best fit your needs.

Intro to Rock

Half-Day +/-4hrs | Full-Day +/- 7hrs

Learning the basics of rock climbing opens up many opportunities to experience the mountains in a new way. In the “Into to Rock” program, our guides focus on providing a solid foundation in climbing technique, rope work, belaying, and explaining crucial aspects of climbing needed to have a wonderful time climbing!

Advanced Climbing

Half-Day +/-4hrs | Full-Day +/- 7hrs

Rifle Mountain Park is well known for its incredible concentration of steep face climbs requiring delicate yet powerful movement. Our advances climbing days focus on progressing you as a climber. Whether you’re looking to be guided on routes above your lead ability or seeking coaching for taking your climbing to the next level, this program will be sure to introduce you to techniques used for training, climbing more efficiently, and building a stronger level of endurance.

Learn to Lead

Full-Day +/- 7hrs

Learning to lead climb is the next step to progressing as a climber, and being able to do so confidently and safely will make the experience much more rewarding. If you’re movement ability is solid while on top-rope climbs, consider learning the fundamentals of lead climbing from our experienced guides. RMP offers excellent terrain for your first day of leading, and the instruction and feedback from our guides will set you up for many more lead routes to come!

This program is offered on a full-day basis only and is run at a 2:1 ratio.

Rock Rescue

3 Full-Days

The technical ability needed to perform a rescue or escape a belay in vertical terrain takes serious practice. This course focuses on all aspects of self and companion rescue and is ideal for climbers who are interested in technical systems, looking to progress into multi-pitch terrain, or for confident climbers looking to begin lead climbing. This (3) day course progresses through numerous scenarios of both single and multi-pitch climbing and will give participants the skills and knowledge of systems needed to feel confident in advancing your climbing options. We run this course at a 2:1 ratio and camp in Rifle Mountain Park for the duration.
