2017 Spring Break Program

Rifle Climbing Guides is excited to offer climbing programs for local students during the March 20-25 Spring Break.

As a collaborative body of guides, our goals are to provide a high level of safety in the terrain we encounter, show everyone a great time, and to learn new skills along the way. Rifle Mountain Park offers an excellent environment to prioritize these goals and we’re thrilled about the possibilities of exposing more folks to it through climbing!

Where will we climb?

This program is focused in Rifle Mountain Park. In March, both rock and beginner ice climbing conditions can exists. Any changes to this itinerary will be clearly stated well in advanced.

What gear do I need to participate?

Rifle Climbing Guides supplies all climbing and safety equipment needed to participate. A gathering shelter and lunch tents will be provided on sight and everyone registered will have access to this area. Even in March, the canyon can hold snow and can be a cold place in the afternoon. Please see the recommended gear list for specific clothing.

What is the cost and what is included?

Please see the price points on this page. There is no required minimum number of days – come out for one day or climb the whole week! Included in the cost are all guide and park entrance fees, gathering and lunch accommodations, safety equipment, and transportation.

My parents work, how do I get there?

We are providing transportation to / from New Castle, Silt, and Rifle libraries. We’ll pickup at these locations at 9:00a.m. and will return between 3:00-3:30p.m.

Please ensure that each participant has the following list of clothing conducive to prolonged periods spent outside.

We are a guide service built by professional, outdoor educators and guides that have years of experience instructing for organizations such as The National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), International Wilderness Leadership Schools (IWLS), universities, and private and corporate organizations on multi-day courses and in technical terrain.
