2018 Summer Programs

Rifle Climbing Guides is excited to announce our 2018 summer programs! We’re looking forward to offering courses from beginner to advanced climbers, instruction on technical systems, training methods to improve your climbing ability, yoga, summer camps, alpine peak climbs and more! For details on group events, birthday parties, and family rates, please contact us.

Our venues range across Colorado and prioritize terrain that best fits your goals for taking the next step as outdoor enthusiast. Whether your looking to try climbing for the first time, jump a grade in your climbing skill, do yoga on a beautiful canyon rim, or join a camp, the guides of Rifle Climbing Guides offer professional and friendly instruction that aims to deliver a wonderful, safe experience!

How do I sign up?

Simple! Click on this link and complete the registration form, or give us a call. Please confirm registration by submitting the waiver and completing the online registration form to info@rifleclimbingguides.com. We welcome advanced registration and do our best to accommodate walk-ins.

The guides of Rifle Climbing Guides have years of experience in guiding and instructing youth in outdoor recreation activities. Our summer camps are for youth ages 8+ and will take place in and around Rifle, CO. We’re excited to continue working with youth who wish to learn the basics of outdoor climbing and build on their experiences and technique, as well as introduce new climbers to the sport. Our guides will teach climbing technique, proper safety commands, and ensure a fun and safe climbing experience for all. All of our guides hold advanced wilderness medical certifications and are certified climbing guides. Parents are welcome to join and observe for any amount of time. Our vans will pickup campers each morning at the Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Silt, and Rifle Libraries. Please pack a light jacket, lunch, snacks and a water bottle for the day.

Rifle Climbing Guides is pleased to offer all-women’s climbing and yoga clinics in some of Colorado’s most stunning venues. This program will focus on the integration of the physical and mental aspects of yoga with the movement, technique, and strength associated with rock climbing. As more women are rising to the top of the sport, the climbing world has experienced a significant focus on yoga as training. The exposure of climbers to yoga, and yogi’s to climbing, has been an incredible influence and resource for strengthening both sides. The practice of movement and mental focus in both activities are heavily transferable and are utilized on all levels of dedication.

Based in Rifle Mountain Park in Rifle,  Taylor Canyon in Crested Butte, and Lime Creek Canyon in Eagle, these clinics will be held outdoors, with climbing and yoga taking place in beautiful mountain settings. Alternate facilities have been arranged should inclement weather arise. Maximum (6) participants per course. More details here.

Alpine terrain offers a unique and rewarding experience for climbers who wish to venture into more remote areas and undertake bigger mountain objectives. These (2) day climb will expose participants to incredible mountain routes and vistas on some of the most prominent peaks in U.S. These peaks are well known for their quality of alpine terrain and stand as a test piece to any aspiring alpine climber. As an approach day is required for most of these technical routes, a strong level of fitness is required, and participants should expect to be moving for up to 10 hours in a day. Please contact us for more information and details on other 14’er connections throughout Colorado,as well as the volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest. These climbs are offered at a 2:1 guide / participant ratio. Space is limited.

Can’t decide between spending a wonderful week rock climbing or heading to the river to cool off? Join our Rock & River camp and you’ll be rock climbing in the shade in the morning and paddling one of our SUP’s on the water by the afternoon! This multi-sport camp will allow campers to experience the thrill of rock climbing, the beauty of hiking, and the enjoyment of the water as they paddle SUP’s around the flat water of Harvey Gap State Park. Our fleet of SUP’s are extremely beginner friendly, reaching lengths of over 11′, making them very stable for beginner paddlers and easing them into learning the balance and technique of SUP’ing. Campers will be equipped with paddles, leashes, helmets, and life vests that meet U.S. Coast Guard approved standards.
